Chapter 1

Now we know how hithlain came to be a product of Lorien!  Heh!

Author's Response:

Well, obviously, hithlain could simply be a local product. But I did get the impression, reading, that there might be more to it than that--and, if so, it would make sense to me if it were originally Sindarin.

Thank you very much for reading and commenting!

Chapter 1

Lovely story! I am a big Galadriel/Celeborn fan. It has that old Sindar/Noldor vibe going for it and the strong, silent man and talky, self-confident woman. What's not to love and capture so much of it talking about a piece of rope. (I love the idea that someone besides the Noldor invented something!)

Author's Response:

Thank you very much!

Obviously, we are never told anything about the history of hithlain in LOTR, but it would make sense for it to come from Doriath, originally, don't you think?

This was my very first Artanis story--and it's more light-hearted than the two pieces I've written about her since. Clearly, that's all due to Celeborn!
