Anyone who manages to put flet and carcanet (and rhyme them) in a Dr. Seuss/Tolkien pastiche has my serious respect. I love it, and Feanor is perfectly characterized!

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!!!! This is hilarious! I love it!
How did you get the verses to rhyme? That's my problem when I write poetry. I can't get the ideas I have to fit words that rhyme.
Author's Response: *g* Thanks! I'm very glad you liked it. With doggerel verse like this, I can often just write whatever silly thing comes into my head (or, in this case, steal some of Dr. Seuss's rhymes!). With more formal poetry, sometimes the line I need just comes to me, and sometimes I have to sit down and go through every sound in the English language to make a list of words that rhyme until I find one that works. If that doesn't work, I might try a synonym or rephrasing the thought or switching the order of the words and then repeating the process. Then I fix that word as the endpoint and try to find something I like which will get me there, playing around with words and just trying different things until something clicks. If that doesn't work, I start again! I hope that helps. And of course, not all poetic forms rely on rhyme -- some rely on rhythm and meter or alliteration, if it's the rhymes that are a stumbling-block for you.

Still hilarious on the second read--and cleverly done to boot.
Avanti's illustration is great too, very Seuss-ish.
Author's Response: Thank you, and thanks for commenting! :)
I think so too! I like the picture a lot.
